Why Customer Reviews Are Important

From websites to social media, the internet makes it possible for customers to evaluate products and services as well as rate businesses out of 5 stars.

With the internet, we have everything right at our fingertips.

Reviews are of utmost importance for businesses of all sizes. They can either make or break your brand. The possibility of leaving a review leaves the customer in control and helps businesses build plans to improve their product or service. Let’s look at the different reasons why reviews are important.

 

Everyone reads reviews.

Reviews are read by anyone and everyone. Statistics show that customers need to read between 7 and 10 reviews before trusting a business. Whether a business provides products to sell or services to provide, reviews can either attract customers or push customers away. Simply put – reviews are word-of-mouth marketing, just online.

Reviews reveal business values.

When receiving a review, it’s best to reply to it immediately. When receiving positive reviews, replying with appreciation is perfect. When receiving negative reviews, finding a good response can be tricky. Believe it or not, customers are more likely to leave a review after a negative experience with a business. This is where your customer service comes in. Build your response with acceptance and ask the customer for their opinion on how you can improve. How you respond to criticism says a lot about your business. Responding this way also helps customers feel included and valued.

Reviews improve ranking.

If you read our previous blog about Amazon, then you’ll remember us talking about how reviews improve ranking. The more reviews your business has, the higher your business could rank organically, especially when the reviews have keywords that your business ranks for on Google my Business.

 

It’s safe to say that businesses should value reviews and stay up to date with them. To ensure that your business keeps getting reviews, encourage your customers to do so!

Whether you’re reminding them via social media or on a “Thank You” card when they receive their order, it’s always a good rule of thumb to tell them what you want from them!
